Rebuild in the 1930s of the old 1918 Dreyse MG to provide a stop-gap LMG for the German army pending the arrival of the MG34. In 1938 after the MG 34 was introduced the majortity of 13s were sold to Portugal, including this example which has a Portuguese crest and export date of 1938.
