Universal Arms manufactured M1 Carbines from GI stock parts from 1945 onwards. Runnning out of stock parts they made a reproduction weapon but with various changes to the action and springing. Sold to civilian commercial market from 1968 onwards. "Schmeisser Style" (Sic) folding stock and vented handguard are a catalogue variation shown in 1981. The foresight has been removed and the barrel threaded to accept a non-functional dummy suppressor. This is actually attached by a bolt screwed into the muzzle! Film prop or display item. Experimental suppressed M1s were made but they were not successful and were not in this configuration.
