Chinese version of the the Soviet designed SKS (Samozaryadnyi Karabin Simonova). Designed during World War Two but not put into full production until 1945. The SKS was the first weapon designed to use the new Soviet 7.62 mm cartridge derived from the German 7.92 mm Kurz round. Light, well balanced and accurate its only drawback was the fixed magazine holding 10 clip fed rounds. The SKS Carbine remained the standard weapon of the Warsaw Pact Nations until the introduction of the AK.47. An excellent weapon still in use today.
