Biography:

1. Thomas Wright was a Labourer by trade set to work by Daniel Cornish in October 1787 at 9/-d per week, possibly renovating the Mills following their purchase by the Government from Mr Walton (Winters' Centenary Memorial, p.28). 2. A Report in Winters' Centenary Memorial (p.31) recorded that he was "a Millman lately employed by Mr Walton". 3. On the 24th January 1789, Thomas was judged to be unfit for service (Supply 5/212). 4. A letter dated the 12th September 1789 from J. Wright and J. Clowdesly to Major Congreve, stated that they had given notice to Thomas Wright, who was not to be employed after the 20th September (WASC 1392).
