Biography:

1. John Shore was listed on Supply 5/227 dated the 23rd August 1808 as Extra Clerk at £70 per annum, having been appointed to that position on the 20th July 1807. 2. According to a List of Officers, etc. Employed (Supply 5/228 dated 1st September 1810) Mr. Shore was employed as Third Clerk, still at £70 per annum, but with no allowances, and he was "not upon the Establishment." It also recorded that the date Mr. Shore was appointed to that position was the 26th August 1807. 3. Supply 5/229 dated the 29th August 1812, recorded that Mr. Shore was appointed Second Clerk on the 27th July 1812 at £80 per annum. In addition, he was given £12 for lodging and £8 for coals and candles. This same document confirmed that his first appointment in the Ordnance was the 20th July 1807.
