Biography:
1. William Rook worked in the Corning House earning 2/2d per day, and had been employed with the Ordnance for three months at the time of the Return dated 30th January 1806 (Supply 5/224).
2. HE was still working in the Corning House in 1807 earning 2/2d per day, and in addition, Corning House Men were allowed to watch in turn, for which they received 1/-d (Supply 5/226 dated the 18th June 1807)
3. According to the entry on Supply 5/227 dated the 23rd August 1808, William was still in the same position, but then received 2/6d per day, as well as receiving 1/-d to watch in turn.
4. Supply 5/228 dated the 1st September 1810, confirmed that Rook was still a Corning House Man who was paid 2/6d day, and allowed to watch in turn, then for 1/6d per night.
