Biography:
1. William Oxley was employed as a Millman in 1804. In January 1806, he was paid 2/3d per day and had been employed with the Ordnance for 2 years (Supply 5/224 dated the 30th January 1806).
2. Supply 5/229 dated the 29th August 1812, confirmed that Mr. Oxley was still a Millman, but that he then earned 3/-d per day, in addition to which, he was allowed 6d per night when on duty. These details remained the same in February 1814, according to Supply 5/230 of that date.
