Biography:

1. Robert Oldwell (also Odwell) was employed as a Stoveman (drying gunpowder by means of a Gloom stove) with pay of 2/-d per day (Supply 5/224 dated the 30th January 1806). 2. He was still a Stoveman in June 1807 with the same pay, and, in addition, was allowed to watch in turn, for which he received 1/-d (Supply 5/226 dated the 18th June 1807).
