Biography:
1. In 1840 a William Nottage, employed by Lt.Col. Thomas Moody, lived on Lower Island (WO44/133) and his cottage was marked as Plot 16 on the Town Map shown in Appendix 1.
2. The 1841 Census recorded that William Nottage, Gardener, aged 50 years, his wife, Mary, and children, Sarah and William, lived on the south side of High Bridge Street.
