Biography:

1. Richard Murton was first employed as a casual Millwright in the Engineers' Department on the 2nd January 1817. He was a 46-year-old married man with 3 children, living in Waltham Abbey, and was paid 5/2d per day (WO54/520 dated 20th February 1817).
