Biography:
1. Major Thomas Moody was appointed to command the Engineers' Deparment at Waltham Abbey and Faversham on the 7th November 1828, in the room of Captain Boteler who was promoted to the rank of Lt. Col., Royal Enginers (Winters, p.100).
2. On the 28th October 1831, he was promoted to Lt.Col. Moody, R.E., and appointed to have general superintendance of the Establishment at Waltham Abbey. The office of Storekeeper was abolished, and deputy Storekeeper, Mr Wright, was to have charge of the Store Department (Winters, p.102).
