Biography:
1. John Maynard was employed as a General Labourer on the 26th October 1836. His pay in 1839 was £39.0.0d per annum, which included an allowance to watch in turn. He was a 39-year-old married man with 3 children (WO54/623 dated the 1st October 1839 ).
2. The 1841 Census recorded that John (aged 40) and his wife Eleanor (aged 45) were living in Sewardstone Street with their children John (15) and Elizabeth (9). They were all born in Essex.
