Description: Figure 3.5 The steering technique of Black Arrow's engines. The Black Arrow vehicle's first stage was
steered by vmying the combinations of chamber movements as shown in (i) . The four pairs of
combustion chambers in the Gamma 1jJpe 8 engine each swivelled in one plane. The Black Arrow's
second stage was steered by valying the combinations of chamber movements as shown in (ii). Each
chamber of the Gamma 1jJpe 2 engine could swivel in two planes.
